Medicaid

Medicaid is a joint federal-state program that provides medical coverage to low-income individuals, including those who are under 21 or over 65 years of age or those who may be blind, sick, or disabled.  Medicaid is the single largest payer of nursing home bills in America and serves as the option of last resort for people who have no other way to finance their long-term care. Medicaid eligibility rules vary from state to state; however, federal minimum standards and guidelines must be observed.

For Individuals:

Upon the implementation of the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 which went into effect in 2006, Medicaid eligibility has become extremely complex. There are a myriad of regulations involving look-back periods, income caps, transfer penalties and waiting periods to address prior to even filing a Medicaid application.

Our law firm has the experience to expedite and complete the application process.

For Institutions:

Our office works with numerous hospitals in New York to assist their patients with obtaining medicaid coverage. With our extensive in-house and field work staff we are able to help simplify the medicaid application process.
